What to Pack for Your Big Bear Yoga Festival Experience

Your ultimate guide to staying comfy, prepared, and zen in the mountains.

By Robbie B of Carin Yoga

The Big Bear Yoga Festival is more than just a yoga event — it’s a weekend of movement, community, and nature. Nestled in the fresh pine-scented air of Big Bear Lake, the festival invites you to stretch, breathe, and connect with yourself and others.

But as any seasoned festival-goer will tell you, a great experience starts with smart packing. With mountain weather that can shift from warm sunshine to cool breezes, being prepared means you can fully immerse yourself in the yoga, music, and workshops without worrying about what you forgot at home.

Here’s your practical packing guide, by the amazing Robbie B from Carin Yoga! Thanks Robbie for sharing your list!

Clothing & Comfort Essentials

 • Leggings – Choose breathable, stretchy ones for practice and walking around the grounds.

 • Shirt – Light, moisture-wicking tops keep you cool during active classes.

 • Light jacket – Mornings and evenings can be crisp, so layer up.

 • Flip flops – Perfect for slipping on and off between classes.

 • Tennis shoes – Great for exploring trails or strolling between festival areas.

 • Socks – Bring a pair for warmth and comfort.

 • Baseball cap – Protects you from that high-altitude sun.

 • Change of regular clothes – For when you want to shift out of yoga mode into festival hangs.

Yoga & Wellness Must-Haves

 • Yoga mat and props – Your personal space for practice. Mat towel for grip if you like. Meditation pillow, blocks, knee pads, etc.

 • Preferred essential oil – A drop of lavender or peppermint can instantly refresh your mood.

 • Hair scrunchie or elastic – Keep your hair out of your face during inversions.

Nourishment & Hydration

 • Water bottle – Staying hydrated is key at higher elevations.

 • Energy bars – Perfect for a quick snack between sessions.

 • Dry fruits/nuts – Light, non-perishable, and great for sustained energy.

Personal Care Items

 • Toiletries – Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen, hand sanitizer — you know the drill.

Bonus Items (Highly Recommended)

 • Notebook & pen – Jot down class notes, quotes, or inspiration.

 • Small backpack or tote – Easy to carry your essentials between sessions.

 • Light blanket or shawl – For outdoor meditations or cooler evenings.

 • Portable phone charger – Keep your camera ready for those stunning views.

Final Tip: Pack with layers, think light and breathable, and don’t forget the little touches (like your favorite tea or journal) that make you feel at home wherever you go. Big Bear has a magical energy and when you arrive prepared, you’ll be able to fully soak it in.
