Big Bear Yoga Hosts Inaugural Big Bear Yoga Festival
August 23, 24, & 25!
Music, Yoga, Food, and Fun for families and all ages!
Big Bear Yoga is hosting a 3-day inaugural Big Bear Yoga Festival on August 23-25 in Big Bear Lake, CA. The Big Bear Yoga Festival is a special health and wellness event, open to anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors, celebrate and practice yoga, and have a great time. The Big Bear Yoga Festival has offerings that set it apart from others in Southern California, such as a special “Beginners Track”, which has easy and beginning yoga classes, learning how to meditate, and therapeutic yoga. More advanced students can come to sessions for a more intense workout, try a new style of yoga or deepen their current yoga practice.
In addition, the location of the Big Bear Yoga Festival offers optional meals included in the cost of festival attendance, so that everyone has an opportunity to meet new people and “break bread” together. Live music and other classes like Belly Dance Stretch (Belly-O), Laughter Yoga, and Meditation sessions will be offered, along with lectures on topics such as Eating Healthy, and Kirtan (call and response singing.) The Festival boasts excellent yoga teachers from all over Southern California leading and sharing their passion for yoga, including teachers from The Yoga Room of Redlands www.redlandsyoga.com, Western Yoga College of Riverside www.westernyogacollege.com, and Green Tara Yoga of Upland www.greentarayoga.com.
The dynamic band Yoga Das will be performing on August 24th. Yoga Das explores musical spirituality, offering traditional kirtan along with soul, folk and blues inspired tunes. With Grammy nominated Lisa Kekaula leading the way, the music with Kekaula’s soulful voice will get you moving.
Daniel Head of The Yoga Room in Redlands will be leading a Tribal Yoga Rave on Friday night at the camp, complete with glow-sticks and live DJ music.
The Big Bear Yoga Festival will be located at Camp Oakes, a spacious YMCA camp with many amenities such as hiking trails, pool, an observatory, inside and outside yoga spaces, an outside amphitheater with fire circle for music, a climbing wall, and even a small lake for canoeing! All classes and activities are included with purchase of ticket. For over 50 years, Camp Oakes has offered generations of children, groups, and families an ultimate camp experience with high quality programs.
A limited number of Early Bird tickets for Big Bear Yoga Festival are already available online, in addition to accommodations available at Camp Oakes, including camping, RV camping, and dorm-style housing. A current schedule of classes and events is also available online at www.BigBearYogaFestival.com. Activities and teachers are being added daily, so check back often to see the latest offerings. Vendor booth spaces are available, along with sponsorship opportunities for businesses and individuals who want to support health and wellness.
